Chattanooga Tourism Summit Discusses future industry growth

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Businesses heavily invested in the state of Chattanooga tourism came together for a discussion Tuesday.

The Chattanooga Tourism Summit is an annual seminar held by the Chattanooga Tourism Company at the Chattanooga Convention Center.

Those with a vested interest in this industry discussed how to continue to market the Scenic City to prospective tourists.

The Tourism Company says the biggest hurdle to getting tourism spending is making sure to get someone to Chattanooga first.

“It’s about marketing, it’s about data and how we determine organizations and groups can recruit people to visit or advertise and market to people to come visit in our communities. It’s just getting a little bit more into the weeds than we get in during our general session. But hopefully it’s an opportunity for everybody to learn,” said Chattanooga Tourism Company CEO Barry White.

Attendees got to hear from keynote speakers and participate in interactive panels.
