Two women arrested in Chattanooga human trafficking operation
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A human trafficking investigation in Chattanooga has led to the arrest of two women as part of an undercover operation.
On June 9, 2025 law enforcement agencies carried out a targeted operation to crack down on human trafficking and identify potential victims.
The operation involved several local and federal agencies.
As a result, the TBI said Zhang Wei was arrested, and is being charged with one count of Promoting Prostitution and one count of Prostitution.
She was booked into the Hamilton County Jail with bond set at $200,000.
Police also arrested Jaquita Welch on an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear.
Her bond was set at $11,000.
This was apart of the same operation that led to the arrest of two men on Lookout Mountain earlier in the week.
