CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — This year, Gratefull is hitting its 10th anniversary!

Celebrations are set to kick off on Nov. 20, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

It will take place in the middle of the 200 block of East Martin Luther King Boulevard, where one long table will be set up for everyone to come and enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

This event is free of charge to anyone attending.

Since it began in 2014, the event has made Thanksgiving a time for community gathering and celebration for the Chattanooga area.

Over that time, it has become the city’s most culturally diverse and inclusive Thanksgiving event.

Every year a street is closed to host the Gratefull meal, bringing strangers and friends together to strengthen community ties.

The concept for this event has spread to other cities throughout the Southeast, including Nashville, Tenn. and Dalton, Ga.

For those who wish to assist and give back, attendees are encouraged to bring supplies for the Maclellan Shelter for Families.

Items needed include nonperishable food, coffee supplies, disposable plates and silverware, toothpaste, diapers, and laundry supplies.

Collection bins will be present during the event.

Volunteers are also needed to make the Gratefull event possible.

To assist as a volunteer, visit www.ihelpchattanooga.org.
