HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF)- Concerns were raised about Hamilton County Schools’ anonymous tip line.

The Quick Tip Line was created in 2016 in the wake of an incident at Ooltewah High School where a student was sexually assaulted on a trip.

It allows anyone to leave a tip on a variety of issues happening within any Hamilton County School.

However, several school board members say they have received complaints from administrators that the vast majority of tips are bogus.

They allege that some students are using the line as a form of bullying, and believe the county should revamp that system.

School board member Steve Slater said, “You should have the guts to put your name on something if you’re gonna complain, or even better pick up the phone call the principal or call the coach and talk to them. Send them an email instead of this crazy anonymous stuff going on.”

Hamilton County School administrators say this is a system they continually evaluate, and more discussions on it are likely to take place next month.
