Waste collection schedule for the 4th of July holiday

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Garbage and Recycle collection scheduled for Friday, July 3rd 2026, will be collected as normal, according to the Chattanooga Public Works.

There will be no changes to the collection day. They ask individuals to place containers along the curbside before 7:00 a.m. on collection day to ensure pickup.

They say the City Landfill located on Birchwood Pike in Harrison, Tennessee will be closed on Friday, July 3rd 2026.

The City Landfill will reopen on Monday, July 6th 2026, for normal business hours.

They say the Wood Recycle Center and Household Hazardous Waste Facility will be closed on Friday, July 3rd 2026 and Saturday, July 4th, 2026.

The Wood Recycle Center will reopen Monday, July 6th 2026. The Household Hazardous Waste Facility will reopen on Tuesday, July 7th, 2026, for normal business hours.

They say the Refuse Collection Centers and Recycle Collection Centers will be closed on Friday and Saturday, July 3rd and 4th, 2026.

The Refuse Collection Centers and Recycle Collection Centers will open for normal business hours on Sunday, July 5, 2026.
