Spain departs from the City of Chattanooga heading to Los Angeles

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – It’s a bittersweet day for local soccer fans as Spain has officially departed Chattanooga.

Earlier today, News 12 was outside the team’s hotel as players and staff loaded up before beginning the next leg of their journey.

Fans lined the streets behind the fence, hoping for a wave or an autograph from the team.

Before leaving, city officials presented the team with a plaque to thank them for visiting Chattanooga and wished them safe travels.

Spain is now headed to Los Angeles, California, where the team will face Austria.

As their time in the Scenic City comes to an end, we wish Spain the best of luck in the next stage of its journey.
