Lady Vols Get Road Win Over Wichita State

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) – Bashaara Graves had 18 points and 13 rebounds to help No. 16 Tennessee survive with a 58-51 victory over Wichita State on Friday night.
Andraya Carter scored 14 points for Tennessee (7-2), which was playing its first true road game of the season.
Diamond Lockhart and TaQuandra Mike scored 11 points each for Wichita State (1-6).
The score was 44-44 with six minutes remaining, which was surprising. Wichita State was coming off a home loss to Southeast Missouri State and playing without leading scorer Jyar Francis, who was injured and not on the bench.
Carter put the Volunteers up four with consecutive baseline jumpers for a 48-44 lead with 5 minutes to play.
A three-point play from Wichita State’s Rangie Bessard made it 50-49 with 3:48 remaining.
Carter’s driving basket for a 52-49 lead with 2:55 to play was the final basket of the game.
