Butch Jones and Pat Fitzgerald Discuss Their Approach to Outback Bowl

Bowl games are one of the few times you see opposing head coaches mingle together before a game.

In Tampa today, the Vols Butch Jones gave Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald a bro hug before the two sat down for a joint press conference ahead of their Friday meeting in the Outback Bowl.

Said Jones,"Obviously you have time to prepare for different nuances, but at the end of the day, it gets back to doing what you do in executing. But if you look at the bowl trends each and every year, it’s about tackling. It’s about taking care of the football."

Added Fitzgerald-"Obviously followed Butch and his program for a number of years. Very similar approaches. From our standpoint, I want our guys to have a blast. This is a reward that they have earned. Both teams."
