Drug-laced candy making its way into metro Atlanta

JOHNS CREEK, GA (CBS46) – What might look like an innocent, sweet treat could be dangerous and may actually contain traces of marijuana in disguise.

The Johns Creek Police Department executed a search warrant at an undisclosed residence and found over 12 pounds of THC gummi candy and 7 pounds of chocolate marijuana edibles. They believe the candy may have come from Colorado.

Although the candies are okay in states where the drug is legalized, like Colorado, Washington and Oregon, it is illegal to manufacture, transport or possess them in the state of Georgia.
