Butch Jones and Jim McElwain Soaking Up Vols-Gators Rivalry
The build up for Tennessee-Florida is through the roof.
Unbeaten teams.
National championship implications.
College Game Day in Knoxville.
The Gators eleven game winning streak over UT.
Trash talking.
It’s the epitome of a rivalry, and Gators coach Jim McElwain and Vols coach Butch Jones wouldn’t have it any other way.
Said McElwain–“But I love this kind of stuff. It’s one of the things even in the short time I was in the NFL I kind of missed. There’s something special about the college rivalries.”
Said Jones-“It’s a great rivalry. Everyone is excited to play, so I don’t really put too much stock. That doesn’t bother me the things they are saying. That’s all part of it. That’s the world we’re living in. That’s social media. So to me, that doesn’t help us prepare to play winning football come Saturday.”
Added McElwain-“How can you not be excited going out in front of 100-thousand people that are booing you. Man that is so cool. Where else does that happen right?”
The game kicks Saturday at 3:30pm on News 12 Now, and it will be streaming on our web page at wdef.com.
