Chattanooga Police officer charged with domestic assault

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Chattanooga Police officer has been charged with domestic assault.

James Oister was arrested on Christmas Day in Harrison, by deputies with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, after being accused of domestic abuse.

A Chattanooga Police Department spokesperson says Oister is on paid administrative leave pending an investigation.

Oister bonded out of jail and is expected to be in court on January 4.
