Disabled Veterans Get Help in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF) – Disabled veterans get some much needed help Monday and Tuesday.

The Disabled American Veterans Organization has set up their mobile service office in Chattanooga.

Staff members will determine what your service-related disabilities are, and help you file your disability claim with the VA.

Yung Scates, a National Service Officer with the D.A.V. Organization, says, "You think about the veteran that went on active duty. Did he fall? Did he hurt his legs? Did he hurt his back? Also, is he a combat veteran? Does he have psychological and physical disabilities?"

The mobile office will be at 619 Memorial Drive Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

All services are free to veterans.
