Bob Corker says Vladimir Putin has turned himself into a pariah

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Former US Senator and Chattanooga Mayor Bob Corker gave his thoughts on the Ukraine conflict today.

Corker said Vladimir Putin has turned himself into a Pariah in attacking Ukraine.

He expressed admiration for the nations that have come together to stand up to Russia.

But he also expressed concern the conflict will result in civilian casualties and the destruction of Ukranian cities.

“I hope that all of this causes us to realize the importance of our freedoms, here. And, while we have differences in our nation that are accentuated in ways they should not be by people on both sides of the aisle, hopefully this will allow us to think a little bit beyond those sometimes very silly differences.”

He pointed to the Ukranian defense against Russia as an example of people fighting for their freedom and warned against polarization.

He said the people of Ukraine have been an inspiration.
