Atlanta extending underground train system at airport

ATLANTA (WDEF) – The $6 billion expansion plan at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport includes extending their train system.

The proposal is too extend the tunnel by 600 feet.

That would extend it from the stopping point now under the Domestic Terminal to the Ground Transportation area.

The extension would speed up the train turnaround, which means shorter intervals between trains.

Airport officials are still discussing the plans, so no construction has begun yet.
