WJHL TV in Johnson City reports that the September 10th football game between Tennessee and Virginia Tech at the Bristol Motorspeedway is sold-out.
150-thousand tickets have been sold. Once the game kicks off, it will set the new college football attendance record.
Jerry Caldwell, the executive vice president and general manager for Bristol Motor Speedway says only a limited number of premium area seats are still left to purchase.
Vols coach Butch Jones was in Bristol on Tuesday night for the Big Orange Caravan Tour.
He says he can’t wait to check out the atmosphere for the Battle at Bristol.
Said Jones,”You look at the scoreboard over the field. It’s going to be a unique experience I think for our fans and obviously for our players. It’s going to be apart of something, the biggest ever. it’s something that’s very, very special. This is why you come to the University of Tennessee to be able to experience events like this.”
