Bookstore kicks off Educator Appreciation Week

Chattanooga, Tenn. (WDEF) – A local bookstore is celebrating Tennessee Valley teachers.

Barnes & Noble Hamilton Place kicked off its Educator Appreciation Week this weekend to honor educators in the community.

To celebrate, over the next few days, the store is bringing in authors to talk about educational books.

Today, local author and environmentalist Joshua  Sneideman showed off some of his classroom projects featured in his two children’s books.

He says an event like this means a lot to teachers.

“Teachers have an incredible job. They take care of our kids for many hours a week and they do fabulous work, and I think we should recognize them almost every day,”  says Sneideman.

Now through Sunday, educators for grades Pre-K through 12, including homeschoolers, can get special discounts with their free Educator Discount Card.

There will also be classroom giveaways.
