Burlison sentenced to 60 years in prison
WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — A man found guilty of a 1984 fatal shooting was sentenced to 60 years in prison.
Jay Burlison was convicted of voluntary manslaughter and two counts of aggravated assault.
On Tuesday, a Whitfield County judge sentenced him to 20 years behind bars for each count.
Last week, a jury found Burlison guilty of shooting and killing Ernest Griffin, shooting his ex wife, and trying to shoot a convenience store clerk.
Investigators say he was on the run for more than three decades, before he was arrested in July.
