Candidates Make Last Minute Appeal for Votes on Super Tuesday
SEN. BOB CORKER (R) TENN “I just didn’t feel like me endorsing was the right thing to do. ”
Those who attended a speech at UTC thought they would get a hint about who their republican U.S. Senator supported in the presidential primary.
SEN. BOB CORKER, (R) TENNESSEE “I’m just giving no advice. I’ve been asked non stop about, but look, I, I just, I think whoever you guys decide who’s going to be our next president that’s who I’ll work with.”
But Tennessee governor Bill Haslam was not reluctant to throw his full support behind Marco Rubio. Haslam introduced the Florida senator to a crowd in Knoxville.
SEN. MARCO RUBIO, (R) FLORIDA “If you vote for me, when I am your president we will do what needs to be done and we are going to leave for olur children what our parents left for us, what Americans always leave their children, the single greatest nation in the history of all mankind.”
Ted Cruz focused on Donald Trump, the leader in the polls.
SEN. TED CRUZ , (R) TEXAS “Donald Trump as the nominee means Hillary probably wins and we lose this country.”
Donald Trump shrugged off the attacks, and went after the media.
DONALD TRUMP , GOP LEADER IN THE POLLS “I get as stories that no basis in fact. whatsoever. And one of the things, they can write anything they want to you can’t sue them because the libel laws are ..they essentially don’t exist. And one of the things I’m going to do, we’re going to open up the libel laws.”
Hillary Clinton won big in South Carolina , which toned down the dialogue a bit in the democratic race.
SEN. BERNIE SANDERS, (D) VERMONT “My request to you is let us make history tomorrow.”
SEC. HILLARY CLINTON, LEADER IN THE POLLS “We don’t need to make America great again, America has never stopped being great.”
