Central’s Ryan Montgomery Signs to Play College Basketball at Lee University
Chattanooga-(WDEF) Central high school forward Ryan Montgomery will join the college basketball ranks next year.
Montgomery signed a scholarship on Friday to play college hoops at Lee University.
Purple Pounders head coach Rick Rogers says the 6’5 Montgomery is one of the most decorated players to ever suit up at Central.
Montgomery averaged 18 points and 10-rebounds a game during his senior season.
And he led Central to the state tournament for two years in-a-row.
Montgomery says choosing Lee University was an easy decision.
Said Montgomery-“Me picking Lee. It was good for me and my family. It’s close for me. My family can come up and watch me play ball. Close enough for my friends. It was a good fit for me.”
Added Rogers-“Ryan is going to bring something to Lee University that they haven’t seen in quite awhile. He has got the ability to play above the rim now at a young age. It’s probably going to be even higher in the next couple of years.”
