Chattanooga man accused of stabbing and running over woman
Police have identified Daniel Taylor, 48, of Chattanooga as the suspect.
Taylor was arrested and charged with one count of especially aggravated robbery. A judge set his bond at $200,000.
According to the arrest affidavit, the incident happened at a gas station in the 2100 block of Dodds Avenue.
The victim was in her car when Taylor reportedly walked up to the vehicle with a knife and demanded money. She said when she told him she didn’t have any money, he pulled her out of the car and stabbed her in the back of the head. According to the report, Taylor got in her vehicle and drove off and dragged the victim before running over her.
The victim was taken to the hospital with a stab wound to the head and a fracture him after the lower half of her body was run over by the car.
Police used video surveillance to get an get an image of Taylor.
Officers later recovered the stolen car after short pursuit of Taylor.
The victim later identified Taylor through a photo lineup.
Taylor has been arrested numerous times for domestic violence but the charges were all dropped.
His next court date is February 10.
