Chattanooga police identify New Years Day shooting victims

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) – Hours after three people were shot New Years morning; police released the names of the victims.

Deoaunte Dean, 24, was found shot to death inside a duplex in the 4100 block of Dorris St.

Reginald Lewis Jr., 31, showed up to a local hospital with a gunshot wound.

Juan Boyd, 18, was found shot death inside a car in the 4900 block of Brainerd Road.

According to police, shortly before 12:30 New Years morning, officers were called to a duplex in the 4100 block of Dorris Street to investigate a shooting. When police arrived on scene they found Dean dead inside the residence.

Two hours later,  Chattanooga police were dispatched to a local hospital after Lewis Jr. arrived at the emergency room suffering from a gunshot wound. He reportedly told  police the shooting occurred in the 3100 block of Brainerd Road.

15-minutes after police questioned Lewis about the shooting that sent him to the hospital, officers were dispatched to the 4900 block of Brainerd Road where Boyd was reportedly shot to death.

According to Investigators, the Boyd was a passenger in a vehicle when the shooting happened. The driver of the vehicle drove away from the scene only to find out Boyd was hit.

Police have yet to determine if all three shootings are related.
