Chattanooga realtors say Scenic City real estate selling well

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Chattanooga real estate is selling so well right now…
There’s actually a shortage of homes for sale.
That’s according to the new monthly numbers from the Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors.
Home sales were up by nearly 13 per cent last month…
While the number of new homes dropped more than 30 per cent.
Analysts say we’re in the midst of one of the healthiest housing markets in the past 15 years.
Travis Close serves as the President for the Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors.  He said, "It’s very encouraging for sellers because they’re getting more for their house in a shorter amount of time.  They’re getting closer to the asking price and we’re seeing homes that are getting multiple offers the day they go on the market."
The median sales price also increased during the month of September.
It was up 2.5% over September of last year.
