Check your speed on Highway 27 this month
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) Motorists on Highway 27 will need to be extra careful about obeying traffic laws this month.
Several law enforcement agencies have joined forces to make the highway safer.
Officers from Red Bank, Chattanooga, and Soddy-Daisy Police departments—along with Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department, and The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be strictly enforcing all the laws throughout January.
Today, they started their “27 days, 27 miles, on Highway 27 campaign.”
Officer Pam Weathers with the Soddy-Daisy Police Department says “Travelers on Highway 27 can expect each of these agencies out on Highway 27 the whole month of January, looking for distracted driving, texting while driving, people not wearing their seatbelts, and speed.”
Officer Weathers says those law enforcement agencies want to reduce traffic accidents and eliminate fatalities.
They hope this awareness campaign will do exactly that.
