Cleveland charges 2 men for catalytic converter thefts

CLEVELAND, Tennessee (WDEF) – Police are cracking down of thieves who steal catalytic converters. Cleveland police and the Tennessee highway patrol have arrested two men, Thomas Barnhill and Travis Howard, who were seen walking along I-75.

Troopers discovered Barnhill and Howard were carrying cutting tools and a recently cut catalytic converter.

Officers say they were coming from a business on Frontage Road where they cut the catalytic converter from a vehicle stored there.

Both are charged with Burglary, two counts of Felony Vandalism and three counts of Theft under $1000.

Barnhill was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
