RAINSVILLE, Alabama. (WDEF) – A DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputy has a broken leg after an early morning wreck on slick roads in Rainsville.

K-9 Deputy Dustin Jones radioed dispatch, saying he wrecked his patrol car and was in someone’s yard.

Deputies and Rainsville police found him at a home in the 11-hundred block of Main Street West.

Crews had to extricate him from the vehicle.

Jones was taken to the hospital, but his K-9 dog, Jogi seems to be okay.

Investigators say speed was not a factor, it was the road conditions.
