Downed power lines blocking I 24 on Monteagle Mountain

MONTEAGLE, Tennessee (WDEF) – High winds created a lot of problems this morning on Monteagle Mountain.

They blew down power lines that were hanging low over I 24.

TDOT has had to re-route traffic off of the interstate to get around the blockage.

Sequachee Valley Electric reports that 430 customers have also lost power in Monteagle.

TDOT hopes to re-open the interstate around noon.
