DuPont Elementary holds yard sale

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A local elementary school held a yard sale Saturday.

The yard sale was at the Dupont Elementary School.

1st grade teacher Molly Burns started the yard sale.

She says she noticed that many things that the school no longer needed or wanted were getting thrown away at the end of the year.

That sparked the idea of putting together a sale.

“Everything that we raise is going directly to our new library, STEM center, and culinary center. So they just finished building the walls. So we had one huge library and they divided it up in to three separate parts,” says Burns.

Burns says they got a grant for the building, but the school will have to supply the needs, that’s what the money raised will go to.
