First Sequatchie dog to be adopted on Tuesday

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) – The Chattanooga Humane Society is getting ready to send one of the Sequatchie dogs to a new home.

Tippy the hound-mix dog is scheduled to be the first Sequatchie dog adopted this Tuesday at 2pm.

Tippy was one of 60 dogs that were rescued from an alleged animal hoarder in Sequatchie County.

Sequatchie deputies charged Geoffrey Peterson with neglect and cruelty. He recently agreed to release ownership of the animals which makes it easier for the Humane Society to find new homes for the dogs.

"Some of our dogs are ready for adoption or will be ready  on Tuesday. Then there are others that we’re still working with that might need a little bit more rehabilitation," said HES Volunteer Coordinator Jeanine Cloyd.
