Habitat for Humanity Celebrate 30th Anniversary in Chattanooga
Tennessee is known as the volunteer state and there is NO shortage of helping hands here the Scenic City.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga knows that best.
The organization is celebrating 30 years in the Scenic City.
25 volunteers are helping build an home in Alton Park.
Habitat for Humanity has been building people homes with the help of volunteers for almost 40 years.
And the organization has been opening doors for Chattanooga families for 30.
Clive Rainey is known has the VERY FIRST Habitat for Humanity volunteer.
“I knew the founders…so I had the privileged being invited to get involved right from the very beginning.”
Rainey has been building homes with Habitat for 39 years.
“Every time I get the opportunity to be on a Habitat site I know more family is getting a house. And now its in the millions of families that we’ve helped worldwide.”
“The thrill is to be here and support the folks that have done so much in Chattanooga over these 30 years…to see these folks who come out all the time.”
The celebration continues tomorrow night at the Chattanoogan Hotel.
The organization will host the “Raise the Roof” Gala.
