Heritage Pitching Star Cole Wilcox Elects to Play College Ball at Georgia Over Testing Pro Baseball
Heritage pitcher Cole Wilcox has elected to attend the University of Georgia instead of continuing his baseball career in the minors. Wilcox signed with Georgia last November. The big right-hander was hoping to go in the first round of the major league baseball draft on Monday, but when Wilcox was not selected in either of the first two rounds, he tweeted out that he was going to go to college and play for the Bulldogs. Wilcox will become draft eligible again after his junior year in college. Wilcox went 9-2 last season for the Generals with 95 strikeouts. He holds several Heritage school records for both pitching and hitting.
