House fire in Ooltewah

OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (WDEF) – A fire destroys a home in Ooltewah this evening.

That blaze broke out at 5525 Twin Oaks Drive.

It all started after 8 p.m. when a man woke up to the smell of smoke in his house.

Tri-Community Volunteer Fire crews say 80 percent of the house was fully involved when they arrived.

Highway 58 Volunteer fire crews helped them put out the flames, and make sure no other homes were in danger.

No one was injured, and there is no word on the cause.

But the house is a total loss.

Damage is estimated at $175-thousand dollars.

The Red Cross has been called in to help the homeowner.
