Local events happening over the weekend
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Here’s a look at a few of the events going on in Chattanooga and surrounding areas this weekend.
The cornbread festival is back. If you love this southern staple, then this festival in South Pittsburg is for you.
There, of course, will be cornbread cookoffs, live music, an arts and crafts market, and more.
You can see a fireworks show at 10 pm central time tonight, but most activities are happening all day Saturday, and Sunday until 2 pm.
Tomorrow kicks off opening weekend at the Chattanooga Market. It’s a great way to buy local.
The market features farmers and food artisans selling produce, meats, breads, and other fresh foods. You can also buy jewelry and art there.
The event is from 10am to 5pm tomorrow, and 11am to 4pm on Sunday at the First Tennessee Pavilion. The market runs through late November.
Pop culture is taking over the East Ridge Community Center tomorrow for the Farleycon Convention. See comics, toys, collectibles and crafts.
The walking dead’s Keith Brooks and other stars will even be making an appearance.
The event is from 9am to 6pm.
Florida Georgia Line
If you like a mix of country, rock and pop music, Florida Georgia line is performing at the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville tomorrow night.
The show starts at 7pm.
Inman Park Spring Festival
If you don’t mind making a drive for a festival, head over to Atlanta for the Inman Park Spring Festival this weekend.
It’s the 46th year for the event, and known as Atlanta’s favorite street festival. It features a parade, live music, and an artisan market.
Activities happen throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday.
