Mocs Receiver Reggie Henderson Enjoys Big Time Performance Against Wofford

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) The Mocs victory over Wofford Saturday might have served as the coming out party for receiver Reggie Henderson. He’s built like Mocs legend Terrell Owens.
Henderson is 6-3 and weighs over 200 pounds, and he was making catches against the Terriers that might even make T.O. jealous.
Reggie Henderson began his college career at MTSU.
He was there for three years and never had a catch in a game because he was playing safety and special teams.
Said Henderson:”Well originally I was a receiver coming out of high school. When I first transferred. When I first came into Middle Tennessee, I was a receiver as well. At the end of my career I switched to safety. So coming in, people were looking at me like they don’t know if I could really play receiver or not. So I just had to prove myself really.”
He certainly proved himself at receiver on Saturday against Wofford with seven catches for 102 yards.
Said head coach Rusty Wright:”He has worked really, really hard. Really hard to be a good football player. I mean we took Reggie two summers ago. He had played safety at Middle Tennessee. That’s what he was playing. He started at wide-out against Eastern Illinois. He had played wide-out for about 20 practices. So he has worked really, really hard at trying to be a good player. I couldn’t be happier for him for sure.”
It wasn’t necessarily the yardage that stood out for Henderson. It was some acrobatic grabs.
Reporter:”I think you were on a mission out there today. Was that part of the game plan you had coming in? Were you dialed in?”
Said Henderson:”Yeah I was dialed in for the past month. I ain’t gonna lie to you.”
Reporter:”What planet is Reggie Henderson from?”
Said quarterback Drayton Arnold:”Hah. I don’t know. He’s not from here though. Just insane catches. I think you see the talent level he has. Obviously me throwing to him. I’m as comfortable and confident as I am with anyone. It’s a big thing for us. We got a guy out there. We’ve got multiple guys out there, so it’s big for us.”
Said Henderson:”I had a lot of fun. It wasn’t even about the catches because that’s nothing new like I say. I just felt good being out there with my teammates you know.”
Nature blossoms in the spring. Maybe Henderson does as well.
Said Henderson:”It felt weird playing in the spring time. It was my first time doing it ever. It felt weird, but at the same time, we knew what we had to do. We knew what we could do. And that’s all that really matters.”
