More to the Story with Staley: Senior Talent Show
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Are you at least 62 years old? Do you have ten bucks to spare, and would you like to show off your talent? There’s a good deal brewing for you right now here in Chattanooga.
It’s Morning Pointe’s annual “Seniors Got Talent” show!
That’s Cody Harvey right there! Lighting up the strings a bit! Cody is the Executive Director of the Morning Pointe Senior Living Centers.
He’s getting ready for this year’s talent show! Cody won’t be in it, but a bunch of folks will.
“This is like an old-fashioned variety show. If you remember the old Ed Sullivan show, this is what you’ll get. This Chattanooga’s only talent show designed for seniors,” Harvey said. “We’re excited. We have so many attendees. We want everybody to come out, because it’s a blast.”
This event has been around for several years now. You have to be at least 62 years old to enter.
But you don’t have to be a resident of Morning Pointe. It’s open to all comers.
Harvey says it’s fun, but the contestants take things quite seriously!
“Contestants take this seriously. Under the bright lights…. performing in front of friends and family. Top prize is $500. It’s a serious competition,” Harvey continued.
Auditions for the event begin on June 8. Entry fee? 10 bucks. The big event goes down on August 8, at the Silverdale auditorium.
