NAACP March & Prayer Vigil

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – The Chattanooga chapter of the NAACP are asking for community support for their march and prayer vigil, beginning today at 5pm.

The event will begin at the corner of MLK and Market Street, with participates marching to 825 Georgia Avenue.

The NAACP’s stated goal is the removal of confederate statue at the city courthouse, with the hope of creating “a neutral zone.”

Participates will also be standing up for human rights, equality for all minorities, economic justice, fair housing, support for DACA, as well as marching against all forms of bigotry

Many pastors are scheduled to attend, with the march concluding at 7pm.
