New program addresses truck driver shortage

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Freightwaves and Trans Force Group are teaming up to tackle the trucker shortage.

According to the American Driver Association, the trucking industry is expected to be short by over 100 thousand drivers by the year 20-23.

Excess turnover and and candidates with little experience are their top hiring difficulties.

Transforce Group says their program allows employers to hire licensed drivers straight out of school without their insurance coverage drop.

“In our employment solutions division, we have over 10 thousand CDL drivers that are employed annually. In our training and education division at Transforce Group, we train roughly 2.5 thousand new CDL graduates each year. Including civilans, military veterans through our professional truck driving training schools.”
