One injured in shooting on Burris Lane in Cleveland
CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) – A quiet day on Burris Lane in Cleveland soon became violent when neighbors were greeted with sounds of gunfire down the street.
At approximately 1pm, Bradley County Sheriff’s office responded to the reported gunshots off of Frontage Road.
One victim was reported to have minor injuries, and was reported to have been conscious when being transported to the hospital. It has been confirmed that both the victim and suspect were male, with the victim being transported to Erlanger Medical Center.
“We do have one victim that received minor gunshot wounds, not a life threatening situation as I understand it. The victim was reported to be conscious at the time of being transported by Bradley Counter EMS,” says Bradley County PIO, Taylor Woodruff.
Bradley County Sheriff’s Office says that the suspect fled the scene and has not yet been apprehended.
“We do have a suspect that has been identified. That suspect’s location is currently not known but is also not considered to be a danger to the public,” says Woodruff.
Neighbors say that they saw the suspect take off within seconds of hearing the gunshots, with Bradley County deputies responding just seconds later.
Bradley County Sheriff’s Office say that this is the first incident between the individuals that they know of.
“Every county has it’s quiet areas and things tend to happen when you least expect them to,” Woodruff says.
It is currently an on-going investigation.
