Pedestrian crawling across road struck by deputy

Hamilton County, Tenn. (WDEF) — Around midnight Sunday morning, the Tennessee Highway Patrol received a “be on the lookout” call for a vehicle traveling the wrong way on Dupont Parkway.

THP says then a call came in for a crash on Dupont Parkway.

According to THP when they arrived on the scene, a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputy traveling south on Amnicola Highway struck a pedestrian that was crawling across the road.

THP says that pedestrian was the driver of a 2005 Chevy Tahoe from the crash on Dupont Parkway that THP was dispatched to initially.

According to THP, the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing and was not visible to drivers on Amnicola Highway.

The pedestrian struck was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

THP says names of both the deputy and the victim are not being released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
