Police say Elder Street victim was shot multiple times
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga police and other agencies are investigating the discovery of a body Wednesday on Elder Street.
The body was found along the side of the road, shot multiple times.
Police have identified the victim as Bianca Horton.
She was going to testify in a deadly gang related drive by shooting from last year.
Three people were hit and one person killed.
One of the victim’s was Horton’s own 14 month old daughter who was hit in the back by a stray bullet.
Investigators today said she was going to testify against Cortez Sims and was cooperating with police.
They are investigating whether the shooting was in retaliation.
Mayor Andy Berke released this statement on the shooting.
“Today I received devastating news that Bianca Horton was found dead. This loss of life is a loss to our entire community. Ms. Horton has been through so much. Her family and her daughter deserve our support and justice.
If you have information about this case, I plead with you to work with our police department. Please contact them no matter how insignificant you think the information may be.”
