CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- If you have first hand witnessed any of the tragedies the Tennessee Valley faced from the wildfires to the recent tornado devastation you have seen one common thing, the American Red Cross Disaster Relief helping those in need.

For about three weeks now since the first wildfire in Soddy Daisy the American Red Cross Disaster Relief has been activated.

Now they are currently working on the communities that have been affected by the latest storm.

Volunteers from all over have come together to help and say they have never seen a better symbol of good faith.

“The mental state, they were so resilient, they were just so resilient. I don’t know… there were perhaps one family that I had to spend some time with, but the rest of them was just talking more about everybody else had it worse even though their homes were flat on the ground,” said David Caye who is the  lead for the Mental Health Team for Red Cross Disaster Relief.

The American Red Cross Disaster Relief team is still accepting volunteers and training is free for whoever want to join.
