Rock Springs man facing five counts of rape in Hamilton County

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) – An arrest has finally been made in connection to a 1999 rape of a woman inside her own home.

Jerry Lee Pruitt, 57, of Rock Springs, was indicted on five counts of rape and one count of aggravated burglary.

According to indictment papers obtained by News 12, the alleged crime occurred back in November of 1999.

Pruitt is accused of unlawfully entering into a woman’s home and raping her. According to the indictment, Pruitt intended to physically force the woman into a sexual encounter.

Pruitt is being held without bond.

His next court date is May 13th.
