Shriners raise money & awareness of their hospitals

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Local Shriners were held a kickoff dinner with some of their patients to spread awareness and raise money for hospitals.

Shriners will be out in the city selling stories of some of the patients journeys and how Shriners have helped them.

They will have stories of patients journey’s from the time they started treatments to what they are doing now.

They help shriners hospitals with fundraising and transport children to hospitals to help them get treatment.

They say they haven’t done this fundraiser since 2005, but saw how other cities were raising money for children and wanted to do the same.

Fundraising chairman Travis Tucker told us “Some of our fellow shrine centers around the area have done this and they raise a lot of money doing this and we see the money they are raising so we figured we can do that in Chattanooga too.”

They will be raising money through November but will be out in the streets September 10th through 17th.
