Six Flags shutting down The Georgia Cyclone

ATLANTA, Georgia (WDEF) – You’ve got two weeks to take one last ride on the Georgia Cyclone.

Six Flags Over Georgia announces that they will close the iconic wooden coaster at the end of the month.

The Georgia Cyclone was built in 1990 as a mirror image of the legendary Coney Island Cyclone.

But it was ten feet taller, reaching 95 feet.

The top speed was 50 miles an hour.

The last day for the Cyclone is Sunday, July 30th.
