Teachers Upset Over Tech Insurance Requirement

Chattanooga (WDEF)  Will lap tops and i-Pads be pulled out of Hamilton County classrooms?

That could be reality.

The Hamilton County Department of Education is requiring all teachers to buy insurance for their school issued electronic devices.
Or assume responsibility if the machine gets damaged or stolen.

Education Assc President Dan Liner tells us "THE CONCERNS THAT I AM GETTING IS THAT THERE IS A GREAT DEAL OF IRONY IN REQUIRING TEACHERS TO PURCHASE PERSONAL INSURANCE FOR A DEVICE, OR FOR DEVICES, THAT THEY DON’T EVEN OWN. IT SEEMS TO BE A CONTRADICTION TO PURCHASE INSURANCE FOR SOMETHING THAT IS NOT IN ONES OWNERSHIP
