Teen arrested for arson

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Chattanooga Fire Investigators arrested a 15-year-old boy for arson Sunday.

Officials say a maintenance worker noticed the boy trying to set fire to a cereal box and an old shirt next to a dryer vent outside of a 2-story duplex on Woodland View Circle.

The worker started to go over to the youth, but he ran away.

The fire caused no damage to the building with only one apartment having a little smoke.

No one was injured.

Chattanooga Police found the boy later hiding nearby in a garbage can.

He was arrested and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
