Teen runners found safe after night lost on the trail
WALDENS RIDGE, Tennessee (WDEF) – A pair of teenage runners spent much of last night in the cold on Waldens Ridge.
Rescuers were called out when the 17 and 18 year old got separated from a group that was running the trails at the Falling Water park.
They were last seen around 4:30.
Waldens Ridge personnel were told they didn’t have flashlights or cell phones with them when it got dark.
Teams from 5 local agencies combed out over the trails during the evening, including a drone.
Finally, around 11:30 PM, a person who was helping out with the search found them.
They had hiked though the woods and emerged in a residential area on Sawyer Road.
Waldens Ridge officials posted “Operations like this always take a great coordinated effort from all involved and we are lucky to work with great people and organizations.”
