Tennessee Highway Patrol informs drivers of safe travels

EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Georgia-Tennessee game is in Knoxville this year, and that means the Tennessee Highway Patrol is hosting the fans at the I-75 welcome center in East Ridge.

It’s a tradition between the THP and the Georgia State Patrol to use the game as a “teaching moment.”

There’s something new this year, a realistic look at what can happens if you lose control and overturn in a wreck.

With no seat belts in use, that kind of crash can be fatal.

The officers have some good advice for travelers, and are especially concerned about those who are drinking and driving this weekend.
