Tony Bigoms Granted New Trial

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- A convicted Chattanooga murderer is granted a new trial.

Tony Bigoms was convicted of killing and dismembering Dana Wilkes back in 2012.

Wilkes was a 48-year-old dialysis worker in Chattanooga.

Court papers show the two were friends at the time.

Bigoms is now serving a life sentence for the murder, plus four years for abuse of a corpse.

There’s no word yet on when the new trial will be, or why the court of criminal appeals decided to grant a new trial.
