UTC Golfer Wes Gosselin Has Chance to Break Tennessee State Amateur Record

Wes Gosselin of Knoxville, TN has put on an absolute clinic this week at Blackthorn Club in Jonesborough, TN. The rising senior at UT-Chattanooga is on pace to set the record for both lowest score to par and largest margin of victory in the 101st Tennessee State Amateur Championship. Gosselin’s rounds of 67-64-68-199 place him at 17-under par for the championship.

19-under par, set by Peyton Sliger of Maryville, TN in 2015 at Holston Hills Country Club, is the record low for the championship. The largest margin of victory is 8 strokes set by Andrew Pratt in 2004 at Hillwood Country Club.

Gosselin will be paired with 2016 Tennessee Junior Amateur Champion and Tennessee Match Play Champion William Nottingham (-6) of Kingsport as well as Lee University’s Taylor Davis (-3) of Franklin.

Round Four begins Friday morning at Blackthorn Club in Jonesborough, TN.
