Vic Grider Steps Down as South Pittsburg Head Football Coach

Long time South Pittsburg head football coach Vic Grider announced on Monday that he’s leaving the Pirates program. Grider coached the Pirates for 22 seasons posting phenomenal numbers.

Grider went 232-54 during his two plus decades on the South Pitt sidelines. His teams missed the playoffs only once during his tenure. Grider took the Pirates to the state title game six times, including last season. He won 3 state championships.

Recently, Grider was a finalist for the head coaching job at Dalton, so don’t be surprised if he pops up on the coaching scene once again.
